For example, nowadays, AI is very hot and uses a lot of optical modules, which consume a lot of power during operation. If our TEC materials are optimised to significantly reduce the power consumption of optical modules, then we can work together to further reduce the cost of the AI industry.
The core of semiconductor thermoelectric technology is the material inside the semiconductor thermoelectric modules.
New Sail Technology is one of the few teams in China that has mastered the full-stop R&D capability from raw materials to wafers to modules.
Under the support of the State Key Laboratory of New Material Composite Technology of Wuhan University of Technology, the R&D team of New Sail Technology has constantly broken through the technical barriers and realised the rapid transformation from laboratory to market. This system of ‘industry, academia, research and application’ provides strong support for the development of new materials industry.
Yonggao Yan, general manager of New Sail Technology, said:
The company relies on the State Key Laboratory of New Material Composite Technology of Wuhan University of Technology and the Pilot Platform for Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements of Semiconductor Thermoelectric Chips in Wuhan, the platform serves as a bridge to convert the laboratory technology into market-oriented products, which is a process of changing the technology from 0 to 1. Now we want to change from 1 to 100, which still needs us to carry out a lot of exploration.
Jianwen Wu, president of the Wuhan High-Tech Industry Association, said:
In fact, there is no lack of technology, the lack of market and management, and how to respond to changes in the market to make rapid decisions and adjustments, so we must seize the window of time.
